Boyd Lynn Alexander J.D., of Lincoln, died Nov. 24, 2014. Lynn was born Dec. 30, 1947 in Julesburg, Colo. to Boyd M. and Janice (Hendrickson) Alexander. Valedictorian of his Ansley High School class; he came to UNL as a regents scholar. He joined Ag Men (now Alpha Gamma Nu) fraternity and later served as chapter advisor. Lynn was a member of the Cornhusker Marching Band and spearheaded their successful performance tour across Europe. He was inducted into the Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music honorary. Lynn earned his Juris Doctorate from UNL and opened a private law practice.
Lynn served for 38 years in the Army Reserve retiring with the rank of colonel. Graduate of the U.S. Army War College. He won numerous awards for his service. Lynn was an active member of the Reserve Officer Association and the employer support for the Guard and Reserve. Lynn joined the Masonic Fraternity and served as master of Lancaster Lodge No. 54 and the work done under his leadership won the Rock Maul Award. He was a founding member and musician of Tabula Rasa No. 332! Lynn was the grand musician for the Grand York Rite of Nebraska.
In 1976 he married Susan Powers. Together they had a beloved daughter, Jessica, who brought them both pride and joy. Lynn is survived by wife, Dr. Susan Powers-Alexander; daughter, Jessica Alexander Cochnar and husband, Michael, of Los Angeles: sisters, Linda Alexander (Dr. Amy Prestas) and Carol (Burton) Willis; and mother-in-law, Ann Powers. Preceded in death by parents and father-in-law, Ronald Powers.
