Norma Elaine (Ward) Latzel, 90, was born February 22, 1929 to Samuel E. and Anna Alfreda (Erickson) Ward in Norfolk, NE. She grew up in Neligh, NE and married Charles William Latzel on December 26, 1945 in Clearwater, NE. She went to her heavenly home on Sunday, February 24, 2019.
She was a homemaker while her children were at home. She babysat and was active in PTA and Girl Scouts for many years. She was the owner of the former Norma’s Place Café in Havelock for over twenty years, prior to her retirement.
She enjoyed sewing and crocheting, but especially enjoyed dancing, traveling and gambling with her husband at various casinos across the country.
She is survived by her children, Kay (John) Buse; Linda (Mike) Hill; Chuck Latzel; Betty Olsen and friend, Jim Blake; Leroy (Angie) Latzel, all of Lincoln; 12 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Charles; grandson, Tom Latzel; great granddaughter, Layla Johnston; brother and sister-in-law, Ike and Liz Ward.
Viewing/Visitation will be Thursday, February 28 from 2:00 -8:00pm with family greeting friends from 6:00 -8:00pm at Roper & Sons Funeral Home 4300 O Street.
Funeral Service will be at 11:00am Friday, March 1st at Roper & Sons Funeral Home.
