Nancy was always active, loved the theater and movies and especially all things Sports! Most especially The Nebraska Cornhusker football and basketball. She was very active at Havelock United Methodist Church and was a member for many years there. She graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University in 1954 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education, Physical Education, and Speech and Communications. She participated in her Willard Sorority at Nebraska Wesleyan University as well as Plainsman players (theater) the school newspaper, pep club and Alpha Phi. She was a long-time volunteer at the Lied Center in Lincoln. She and husband Paul loved to travel and traveled extensively, going to many placed around the world and the states.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 54 years, Paul Frank Ess (Married Nov. 1954) and brother-in -law, Donald Hartman and Parents. She is survived by her only sister Sue Hartman, nieces Rebecca (Daniel) Johnson, Rachel (Jerry)Petersen, nephews David Hartman and Timothy (Jennifer) Hartman. Many great nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. at Havelock United Methodist Church, 4140 N 60th St, Lincoln, NE. Inurnment will take place at the Hickman Cemetery in Hickman, NE.
