Marshall Paxton Stilwell

April 1, 1926 - March 23, 2011

Marshall Paxton Stilwell, 84, Lincoln, died Wednesday (3-23-11) from his battle with Alzheimer’s, his family was by his side. Born (4-1-26) in Porterville, California to Macy B. and Sarah E. (Jay) Stilwell. Marshall graduated from high school in Douglas, Nebraska in 1945. He then graduated from Nebraska Wesleyan University with a degree in business. He worked for Lincoln Telephone & Telegraph Company for 35 years retiring in 1991. He was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge in Douglas and Palmyra, Nebraska. He was a faithful member of Faith United Methodist Church.

Family members include wife Alice( Helm) Stilwell; sons, daughters-in-law: Dean and Cathy Stilwell, Casper, WY, Galen and Carol Stilwell, Lacey, WA, Dale and Vicki Stilwell, York, NE, Barry Stilwell, Houston, TX; daughters, sons-in-law: Dianna and David Lear, Lincoln, NE, Debbie and William Ethridge, White Bear Lake, MN, Sharon and Tim Lickei, Lincoln, NE; 14 grandchildren: Angela, Jerome, Leslie, Randi, Jaret, Jessica, Abby, Hillary,Tessa, Amanda, Michelle, Matthew, Jacob and Nathan; 14 great grandchildren: Brittany, Kylse, Shane, Mikayla, Anna Belle, Cathryn, Samantha, Jonathan, Jeremiah, Emerson, Domonic, Jaden, Myra and Pierce. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Dean and Byron.

Funeral Service: 1:00 p.m. Monday (3-28-11) Faith United Methodist Church, 1333 North 33rd. Pastor Joseph Rafique, officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.

Memorials to the church or Alzheimer’s Association.

Visitation: 2:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Sunday with family greeting friends from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street and one hour prior to service time at the church.
