Linda D. Miles

April 28, 1950 - February 11, 2023

Linda D. Miles, 72, of Lincoln, passed away surrounded by her loving family on February 11, 2023.  She was born in York, NE, to Harold and Imogene (Bowersock) Smith.  Linda spent her life as a nurse helping and teaching others with her gentle touch.  She had many hobbies, reading, gardening, cooking, traveling, playing piano music, and being a part of bible study groups to name a few; most of all she enjoyed spending time with her family and being Grandma.

Family members include her husband Steve of 52+ years; daughters Monica (Carl) Steffens and Amber (Mike) Gibson, all of Lincoln; grandchildren Ella, Matthew, Gunner, and Addyson, all of Lincoln; sisters Marcia Smith of Lincoln and Sharon (Mike) Olson of York; numerous extended family members and friends.  Preceded in death by her parents.

Celebration of Linda’s Life will be held 10:30 a.m., Thursday, February 16, 2023, at Horizons Community Church, 3200 Grainger Parkway, Lincoln (16).

Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in York, NE at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2023.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m – 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln (10).

Memorials may be given in lieu of flowers to the Heartland Cancer Foundation,  or the family as they decide a scholarship fund in Linda’s name.

So sorry for your loss. Linda was a remarkable person. One of my favorite memories… was a time in Curtis when we were sharing a meal with the Linda, Steve and the girls… Linda had a sneaky way of getting her family to eat healthy… she had made hamburgers, but they were very, very small … her family was having none of it .. they were teasing her about making burger buddies… need to eat four to make a real burger… We all, including Linda laughed until we cried.
