Joyce was former co-owner of Bagels & Joe and owner of The Pillow Parlor. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Nebraskaland Treasure Hunter’s Club and Trinity Quilters.
Family members include her husband, Robert James; sons Spencer Hakenewerth, Lincoln and Stewart (Brandi) Hakenewerth, Lincoln; grandchildren William and Harrison Hakenewerth; sister Mary Mangham, Oxnard, CA; brother-in-law Lon Rea, Lincoln; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her parents, brother Franklin Norquest, and twin sister Judy Rea.
Funeral service: 11:00 am Thursday, March 12, 2026, Trinity Lutheran Church, 724 S. 12th Street.
