Harold G. Ross, 86, of Lincoln, died Wednesday (7-17-13). Born (5-18-27) in El Dorado, NE to George and Elizabeth (Dering) Ross. He joined the Army to serve in WWII. Retired from the U.S. Navy with 24 years of honorable service at the rank of Master Chief Petty Officer.
He was deeply loved by his wife of 60 years, Jessamine (Draper); daughters, Kathy (Bob) Keasling, Omaha, NE, Jenny (Tom) Cardwell, Lincoln, NE, Becky (Tom) McKinney, San Diego, CA, Bobbie (Tom) Wilson, Lincoln, NE; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; brother, Millard (Laura) Ross, Overland Park, KS. Ross loved spending time with his family and friends. He was an avid golfer and loved to travel. He was a member of the American Legion in Harvard, NE Post 185 and a Bryan Medical Center volunteer.
A Celebration of his Life will be Friday (7-19-13) at 10:30 am at Northeast United Church of Christ, 6200 Adams Street with Pastor Melissa Finlaw Draper officiating.
Private family burial with military honors.
