Frank H Hilsabeck Jr.

September 25, 1944 - August 1, 2022

Frank H Hilsabeck Jr., 77, of Frisco, TX, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022. He passed away in Frisco, TX due to complications from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP). Frank was born in Holdrege, NE to Frank Sr and Joann Hilsabeck, September 25, 1944. He was the oldest of 3 siblings and grew up in Holdrege with brothers Richard and Tom. Frank was a multi-sport athlete in high school and attended the University of Nebraska on a golf scholarship.

Frank and Sandra Hilsabeck (Johnson) were married on August 10, 1965 and had 3 children together, daughter Tracey Lentfer (Independence, MO) and sons Chris Hilsabeck (McKinney, TX) and Spencer Hilsabeck (Lincoln, NE).

In September of 1996 Frank married Elizabeth Livingston of Tampa, FL, adding two daughters, Jessica (Dallas, TX) and Whitney (Frisco, TX), to the family.

Frank began in the mailroom at the Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Co. after graduating from UN-L, moving thru the ranks and eventually becoming CEO.  Frank was an active participant in the Lincoln community engaging with business groups, multiple charities, and other philanthropic organizations throughout Nebraska.  A lifelong passion, Frank enjoyed hunting with his brothers, friends and family, usually with one of the many hunting dogs he owned.  Frank was also passionate about golf, and was very involved with golf in Nebraska, competing in many state tournaments and events. A highlight for him was winning the 1977 Lincoln city golf championship over many younger top golfers of the day. Frank was also a founding member of the Sand Hills Golf Club in Mullen, NE.

Frank was an active father and grandfather through his later years, attending many birthdays, graduations, soccer games, dance recitals, football games and golf outings.  He was blessed with 11 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.  Allison Lentfer Prettyman (Wes) was the first, followed by Ryan Uphoff, Hale Hilsabeck, Alex Lentfer, Jackson Hilsabeck, Celia Hilsabeck, Isabelle Lentfer, Sidney Hilsabeck, Cameron Bean, Evan Bean and Bennett Bean.  Allison blessed Frank with great grandboys Colton and Weston Prettyman.

In addition to wife Elizabeth, Frank is survived by daughters Tracey (Mike Lentfer), Jessica and Whitney (Clint Bean) and sons Chris (Angela) and Spencer (Angie), brothers Richard (Diane) and Tom (Becky) and his multiple grandchildren.  He was preceded in passing by his parents Frank Sr and Joann.

The class of 62 had many great memories… we were a close class and enjoyed all of our high school acttivities together. Many in our class when on to be great leaders.. … Frank was one of them. I am proud of all that we have accomplished in our lives. And I am grateful for the love of the special people that have contributed to our personal successes. Rest in peace Frank. We will all reunite some day and have a great reunion.

Will always remember Frank from the golfing days at Holmes Golf Course in the late 70’s. Frank, Rich, John, Duane to name a few enjoyed time on the links and the 19th hole. Keep on making birdies Frank! Condolences to the entire Hilsabeck Family. God Bless.
