Fawn W. Halvorsen

May 2, 1931 - February 3, 2023

Fawn W. Halvorsen, 91, of Lincoln, NE passed away the morning of February 3rd, 2023 at 7:19am, surrounded by her dear family. She was born May 2, 1931 in Bennet, NE to Walter and Margaret (Bodfield) Adams.

She spent most of her childhood in Western, NE and Syracuse, NE. She served as a doctors Aid, worked at an orphanage, along with a few different accounting jobs. Her true passion was roller skating and continued to roller skate until she was 55.

She married the love of her life, Marshall Dahl Halvorsen on August 6th, 1954. They moved to Lincoln, NE and had their son Randy Dahl Halvorsen on December 2nd, 1955.

 

After Marshall’s retirement from the United States Postal Service they spent their days helping raise their only grandchild, Benjamin, playing card games, watching tv shows together, and taking drives. Although she would often say, the highlight of her husbands retirement was all the time they got to spend with their grandson.

 

Fawn was a person who would light up every room she came into. She had the biggest heart and the best stories. She enjoyed spending the last years of her life with her grandson Benjamin, granddaughter Allison, and her great grandchildren, Alyssa, Bella, and Christopher.

 

She is proceeded in death by her parents, Walter and Margaret (Bodfield) Adams, grandmother, Amanda (Ella) Bodfield, her beloved husband, Marshall Halvorsen and son, Randy Halvorsen. Survived by her beloved grandson Benjamin, his wife Allison Halvorsen of Lincoln, NE. Her great grandchildren, Alyssa, Bella, and Christopher Halvorsen of Lincoln, NE. Daughter-in-law, Dawn Halvorsen of Lincoln, NE.

 

No service. Inurnment in Bennet Cemetery, Bennet, Nebraska. No visitation/cremation. Condolences can be sent to 440. South 54th Street. Lincoln, NE 68510.

Ben- some years ago Mindy and I went to visit Grandma and she offered us each a sucker and commented that her and Marshall had one every evening! You don’t think of older people enjoying suckers but that has stayed with me. Also, if she had any magnets you don’t want please think of me for my magnet collection. I would be honored to have them. Thinking of you.
