Creve C. Borin

November 29, 1941 - February 7, 2026

Creve Carroll Borin, 84, of Lincoln passed away February 7, 2026. Born November 29, 1941, in Lincoln, NE to Lyman and Betty (Ballenger) Borin.

Creve was sent to Bay City, Michigan, to run a Freeman Shoe Department in May’s Clothing Store. It was there he met his future wife Mary at a diner in the morning where people had coffee prior to going to work. They met at the end of August, engaged by the end of September and married the following April 22, 1967, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Bay City by Fr. Harry Heart. They were married just short of 59 years.

He was a member of the St. Michael Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus where he was an honorary 4th degree Knight. He was a delegate to the Knights of Columbus National Convention in St. Louis, Missouri where he met with Cardinal Hickey of Washington, DC, a family friend. He headed the State Convention in Lincoln at the Hilton Hotel. When Creve was a District Deputy he helped establish 4 councils. As a Grand Knight helped 3 new councils get established until they were able to elect new officers. He served as co-chairman for new memberships on the state level.

Creve worked at The Legacy Assisted Living for 18 years as a courtesy transportation driver until his retirement.

Creve bowled on the Cathedral of the Risen Christ bowling league for over 15 years.

Family members include his wife, Mary. Preceded in death by his parents, son Joseph Patrick Borin, brother Bruce Borin, aunt and uncle Joseph and Marilyn Puciaty.

Rosary: 10:30 am Friday, February 13, 2026, followed by a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am, St. Michael Catholic Church, 9101 S. 78th Street. Interment will be in the Omaha National Cemetery.

Visitation with family present from 6-7:30 pm Thursday, February 12, 2026, Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, 4300 O Street.

Memorials to Villa Marie Home and School for Exceptional Children, or St. Michael Catholic Church.
