October 25, 2011 - July 24, 2012

Abigail Johanna Foote, daughter of Luke and Kari Foote of Lincoln, passed away July 24, 2012 while awaiting lung transplant at St. Louis Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.

Abby was born October 25, 2011 and was preceded in death by her brother DJ, Aunt Tina, and great grandparents. She is survived by her parents; Grandparents Jim and Beverly Foote of Ralston, Nebraska, Robert and Linda Busby of Denton, Texas, and David and Martha Holman of Ashland, Nebraska; Great grandparents Gerry Wiant and Steve Kendall of Coggon, Iowa, Marvin and Norma Smits of Wolbach, Nebraska, and Margie Quisenberry of Campbell, Texas. She is also survived by devoted aunts, uncles, and cousins, and hundreds of loving friends and prayer supporters.

Abby was a beautiful soul who lit up the room, whether it was at home, or in the hospitals where she spent most of her short life. She was a baby who never knew she was sick, and overcame many struggles along the way. Though her body slowly failed, her fighting spirit remained strong until the very end. Abby will be remembered for her bright brown eyes and quick smile, her love of people and activity, and her big personality. She was an inspiration to everyone who knew her.

Abby will be remembered in a service on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Hope Community Church at 4700 South Folsom, in Lincoln Nebraska.

There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday night from 6-8 p.m. at which you can greet the family and offer condolences.

The family requests memorials in Abby’s name to Children’s Hospital and Medical Center in Omaha in lieu of flowers.
