William H. “Bill” Jennings, 86, Lincoln, passed away Saturday (3-14-09). Born (1-27-1923) in Hamburg, Iowa, the son of Alva and Edith (Clayton) Jennings. Bill was employed as Contract Sales Rep. for Ash Grove Cement Company, for 27 years, retiring in 1987.
Past member for many years and former president of Hillcrest Country Club. He was an avid golfer and made many trips to Hawaii. Big 8 official for 22 years, refereeing many major bowl games.
Survived by wife of 38 years Maxine, sons, daughters-in-law: Michael and Merline Jennings, Molakai, HI, William G. and Mary Jennings, Sparta, TN; step-sons, spouse: Dr. Stephen Dent, North Platte, NE, Dr. Michael and Cindy Dent, Redding, CA; step-daughters, spouses: Janice and Roger Dillon, Elkhorn, NE, Nancy and Keith Rudeen, Overton, NE; 10 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; brother: Rich Jennings, Lincoln.
Memorial Service: 1:00 p.m. Friday (3-20-09) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Rev. Clarence Higgins officiating.
