Virginia E. Bowmaster

October 18, 1917 - March 6, 2016

Virginia E. Bowmaster, 98, of Lincoln, passed away March 6, 2016 at home. Born to Arthur and Merle (Reynolds) Ellison, Oct. 18, 1917 in Lincoln.  She married Harry M. Bowmaster on Oct. 13, 1939 and together raised four daughters.  Harry passed away March 30, 1974.  Virginia attended Jackson High School and belonged to First United Methodist Church, was a life-time member of Huntington School PTA; she organized Jackson High School class reunions. For 24 years she managed the store and was assistant buyer for Stephenson School Supply.  After retiring, she cared for three of her great-grandchildren until they entered school.

Survived by daughters:  Carol (Dale) Carter, Linda (Jim) Goucher, Marsha Bowmaster, all of Lincoln, and Holly (John) Ellison, Flagstaff, AZ.  Grandchildren: Lisa (Mark) Wade, Lincoln, Gregory Goucher, Cedar Creek, and Pam Carter of Lincoln. Great-Grandchildren: Kristin (Aaron) Johnson, Bryan Koster, Alex Wade and Kayla Carter, Lincoln. 2 Great Great-Grandchildren; brother Bill Ellison, Omaha; sister-in-law Opal Bowmaster, Lincoln.  Preceded in death by siblings:  Rollin and Jack Ellison, Sisters:  Elizabeth Myers, and Bonnie Whittenbeck.

Graveside services 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 10 at Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, 6700 South 14th Street with Pastor Larry Moffet officiating. Please meet at gate #2.

In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family for future designation. No visitation.
