Virgil Wieting, 82, of Lincoln, passed away March 28, 2019, in Lincoln. Born August 20, 1936, to Arthur and Viola (Blome) Wieting. Fmr. Grain Inspector, retiring after 40 yrs. with Lincoln Grain. He was a member of Sheridan Lutheran Church, Elks Lodge #80 (past Exalted Ruler), American Legion Post #3, and W.S.C.I. Virgil enjoyed bowling, car racing and being a part of the NE Men’s Choir.
Survived by wife Janet of Lincoln; children Bruce (Wendy) Wieting Greeley, Co, Gary Wieting, Branson, MO, Susan (Norm) Carlson, Branson, MO, Debora (Jeff) Pullen Meadow Vista, CA, Denise (Mitch) Pullen Central City, NE, and Scott (Kathy) Isherwood of Lincoln, NE; 17 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; brother Dennis (Harriet) Wieting of Roca, NE; Preceded in death by his parents, sisters Joyce and Nola.
Celebration of Life: 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 2, 2019, at Roper and Sons Funeral Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln. Pastor Eric Bostrom officiating. Family will greet friends 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Memorials may be given to the Elks Lodge #80, Sheridan Lutheran Church, or the Capital Humane Society.
