Verl was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served twice as Bishop. After retirement, he and Judy served as Church Education System missionaries at Ball State University in Muncie, IN, teaching and coordinating university-level religion classes and activities. Dear Judy, Nancy & Paul, I’m so very sorry for your loss. “Bishop/Papa” Flack was such a wonderful man. He raised an amazing daughter, and opened his home to me just because I was Nancy’s college friend. I loved visiting the Flacks and have such fond memories of those couple visits and this gentle giant of a man, humble, kind, ever-serving. You all are an exemplary, eternal family, and I pray the Lord’s comfort and peace will always be with you.

Verl was such a great person. He was our department chair in Waverly and was so good in working for each of us in purchasing supplies, recommending items for our classes and just being a wonderful friend. He will be greatly missed! I wanted to attend the funeral but we were in Seattle vising friends, so I am writing this to express my condolences to you Judy.
