Thomas M. Boatman, 73, Lincoln, passed away February 19, 2017. Born December 31, 1943 in Tecumseh, Nebraska to James Herbert and Clara “Peggy” (Sandritter) Boatman. Graduate, Nebraska Wesleyan University, and Graduate School of Bank Management, University of Virginia. Ret. President and Chief Operating Officer Cabela’s World’s Foremost Bank. Previous to that Senior Vice-President, National Bank of Commerce.

Forty-year leader in credit card management, created with Visa the first co-branded credit card featuring a photo, as well as incentive points for credit card use. Created the Cabela’s Club Visa card. Co-author of “Successful Supervision” to be published summer, 2017. Chairman of the Board, Mid-America BankCard Association. Member Lincoln Partnership for Economic Development. Lincoln Sertoma Service Club member and President, Lincoln TeamMates Board Member and President, Sugar Creek Neighborhood Association Board Member and President. Partnered with Mayor Beutler to create Lincoln Cares. Volunteer reading tutor with City Impact.

Family members include his wife, Sara; daughter Elizabeth and son-in-law Brad Allen, grandsons Benjamin and Brendan, Boulder, CO. Other loving family members include Curtis and Lynn Boatman, Cumming, GA; Cindy and Lance Brooking, Ellenwood, GA; Ann and Val Warman, Mayfield, KS; Nancy Ehlers, Las Vegas, NV; Laura and Ron Croom, Omaha; Betty Adams, Lincoln; Mike and Kim Adams, Morse Bluff, NE; David & Kelly Adams, Peru, NE; Ramona Boatman, Herndon, VA; beloved nieces and nephews include Todd Adams, Evanston, IL; Nathan and Missy Croom, Omaha; Heather and Bill Othmer, Omaha; Adam and Claudia Warman, Sugarland, TX; Luke and Liz Warman, Wichita, KS; Michael-David and Christy Croom, Omaha; Kara and Hunter Barrow, Houston, TX; Matthew and Cailin Henne, Las Vegas, NV, Erin Arguello, Talmage, NE; twenty great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and many friends. Preceded in death by parents, brother James Boatman, and parents-in-law Ellis and Corinne Adams.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m. Thursday February 23, St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneers Blvd. with Rev. Wayne Alloway, Jr. officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Roper and Sons, 4300 “O” Street.
