Thomas Joseph Jones, 84, of Lincoln, passed away Wednesday, January 30, 2013. Born September 11, 1928 in Cambridge, NE, he was the oldest son of Thomas Peter and Josephine (Hougnon) Jones. In 1940 the family moved to Indianola, NE where he graduated high school. He fought in the Korean Conflict, and, when he returned to Nebraska, he enrolled at UNL where he earned a BA and MA in education. In 1956 he married Marjorie Ruth Speidel, a Lincoln school teacher. He taught Industrial Arts in the Lincoln Public School System, mainly at Whittier Junior High, for over 30 years.
His first wife died in 1972 and in 1977 he married Mable Fredrickson of Carroll, NE, also a Lincoln school teacher. Thomas enjoyed square dancing, woodworking, building, bowling, and was involved in the Knights of Columbus and was an usher at Cathedral of the Risen Christ.
Survived by his wife Mable, sister Agnes, brother John, and his three sons, Mike, Bill and Jim, grandchildren Chris and Stacy Jones, and great grandson Jackson Jones.

Mass of Christian Burial: 10:00 am Monday (2-4-13) Cathedral of the Risen Christ, 3500 Sheridan Blvd. with Msgr. Robert Tucker officiating. Burial in Calvary Cemetery.
