Theodore Louis “Ted” Zornes, 76, Lincoln, died Thursday, June 21, 2012 after a long illness. Born to Elza and Alda (Thomas) Zornes on December 28, 1935 in Aurora, Nebraska.
Graduated from Aurora High School. He joined the Army and spent two years in England, Germany and France. Attended Milford Trade School. Theodore worked for American Stores Packing for 25 years and then Lincoln Public Schools as a Building Superintendent until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and trapping. A member of Grace Methodist Church and lifetime member of the VFW. He married Viola (Lovell) Zornes on December 24, 1957 and had been married 54½ years.
Survived by his wife, Viola; sons, Todd, Eric (Billie) Zornes; grandchildren, Colleen (Zornes) Reed, raised by grandparents after the death of her mother; Zachary Zornes, Spencer Reed, Samantha Reed, Joseph Peterson, Nicole Peterson, Tyler, Shyanne, Jessy and Katie; brother, Cecil (Eileen) Zornes, Grand Island, NE; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Shari Zornes and son Joel Zornes.
Memorial Service: 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 29, 2012 at Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Rev. Darin S. Corder officiating. Burial in Fairview Cemetery.
