T. “Ted” Thomas, 80, of Lincoln, passed away on Thursday (5-23-13). Born (9-28-32) in Omaha, NE and raised by Jessie (Guy) Thomas- McCormick. Retired owner/operator, A.T. Thomas Jewelers, October 2007. Managed Zale’s Jewelry in downtown Lincoln as well as when the Gateway location opened in 1972.
Opened A.T. Thomas Jewelers in the downtown atrium October 1977. A second store opened November 1980 in the East Park Plaza before moving to their present location and retiring in October 2007.
Family includes his wife, Becky; children, Lauretta (Jim) Kelley, Iowa City, IA, David (Carrie) Thomas, their children, Ryan and Quinn, Highland Park, IL, Michael (Mary) Thomas, their children, Amberly (P. J.) Grosserode, Cassie, Kaylin , Mikey, and Steven Thomas, Lincoln, NE, Amy (Scott) Sandquist, their children, Max, Rex, Samantha, Lincoln, NE, Tish Thomas-Bacon, her children, Jimmy, Carter, Dylan, Lincoln, NE, Brian (Cheri) Thomas, their children, Jessica, Christopher (Jenni) Thomas, Lincoln, NE; great grandchildren, Reece, Cooper, Stacia, Haley, Ellaina, Kiptara, and Braedon; sisters and families, Mary Ann Seina, Barbara Kirkpatrick, Lottie McCormick, all of Omaha, NE. Preceded in death by parents, aunts and uncles.
Private family Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (5-28-13) St. Joseph Catholic Church, 7900 Trendwood Drive with Fathers Patrick Barvick and Paul Rutten officiating.
