So sorry to hear of your wife’s and mother’s passing. We lived next to Mary and Richard in Havelock until 1988 when we moved to Steinauer, Nebraska as I was promoted to postmaster in Burchard, Nebraska.

Aunt Sue is in so many of my childhood memories. When we were growing up, our cousins were our first friends. I had many sleepovers at their house. Her sense of humor and her laugh always bring a smile to my face. Aunt Sue was always a constant for us. We spent Christmas Eve together every year and I have some of the best memories from those nights. Our parents would play cards together and the laughter would float to where we were playing. I don’t have a single memory of family events where Aunt Sue wasn’t there for us. Weddings, babies, birthdays, all of life’s events she was there for. She will be missed.

Sue and I were friends from the age of 5 or 6. We often played together while her folks, Rich and Mary, and my folks, Walt & Laura Phillips, played cards at various friends’ homes once every 6 weeks or so. I have not seen Sue for decades and even longer since I have seen Monte. I think of her when I remember all those card parties we had to go to! My thoughts are with the girls and Monte.
