I remember Shawn so clearly when he was Dick Tracey for Halloween when he was 6 or 7 years old. You made him a Yellow Detective Coat… It was amazing! When he came to trick or treat at my house, he was SO into character of Dick Tracey! It’s forever my favorite memory of him. I ran into him at Chipotle once and we both talked about that Halloween. My heart goes out to you and Pat during this time. Wishing you strength and peace.

One time when Shawn was maybe 4 or 5, I called you, Deb, before I went to your house, Shawn wanted to talk to me, and for what ever reason, he told me to bring food and not to forget he needed just ONE PIECE OF BREAD! I brought him a dinner roll, cuz that was the only kind of bread I had and he was pretty happy I remembered his ONE PIECE OF BREAD. Such a fun memory of him. You will find out the pain never goes away, it just gets manageable as time goes on. Sending you hugs and my deepest condolences.
