On June 22, 2024, Scott T. Pigsley, 37, got his platinum wings and went to meet Jesus among the angels. Born July 11, 1986, in Lincoln, NE. Jerry Lee and Gina Lynn (Bottcher) Pigsley (Lincoln) had the great blessing of being Scott’s parents. Dr. Becky L. Pigsley (Lansdale, PA) was honored to be Scott’s sister and friend.

Scott is survived by his parents, Jerry and Gina, and sister, Becky; aunts: Vickie Jo Evans, Lincoln, and Dian Bottcher, Bozeman, MT; first cousins: Deb Hobelman (Bruce), Jeff Cadwallader (Heather), and Patricia Jo Comstock (Mike), Lincoln; Chad Bottcher (Brenda) and Jamie Bottcher (Justine), Bozeman, MT; first cousins once removed: Erin (Joel) Stueben, Cody (Katie) Cadwallader, and Kira (Isaac) Rogers, Aidan Webb, Zackary Schilling, Gage and Tytan Comstock, Lincoln; Katlynn Fagan, (Newport Beach, CA), Christopher (Samantha) Hobelman, Dorchester, NE; Danielle (Jacob) Nannen, Omaha; Sydney & Brady Bottcher and Jillian & Alden Bottcher, Bozeman, MT; next generation: August, Wade, Milo, Mave, Ava, & Peyton; plus a multitude of friends around the world.

Preceded in death by his grandparents: Harold & Josephine Bottcher; and Roger & Norma Pigsley; uncles Jim Bottcher and Robert Evans. Plus many more special aunts, uncles & cousins.

Scott had a great interest in sports all his life. When he was younger, he participated in Special Olympics swimming, track & field, basketball, bowling, and powerlifting. He enjoyed going to Husker baseball and football games. Recently he attended the world record Husker women’s volleyball game at Memorial Stadium. He had a YouTube channel called the “Fifth Quarter Tailgate” where he connected with others talking about friends, sports, and whiskey. His followers and friends reached all around the world.

Scott’s other love was food. He was adventurous in trying all sorts of cuisine. He loved to BBQ and smoke meats. He loved trying new restaurants. Scott attended culinary school at Southeast Community College and Iowa Western Community College.

Scott was an active member of Northeast United Church of Christ. He led the path to improving the church’s audio/visual systems to enhance the word of God at the church. He chaired the Christian Education board and Information Technology committee. He led a group of teens to the National Youth Event at Purdue University in 2012. Scott was chair of the Pastoral Search Committee seeking to call a new pastor at Northeast UCC.

A Celebration of Scott’s Life will be held in July 2025 at Sesostris Shrine (1050 Saltillo Rd, Roca). For more information contact Jerry Pigsley at jpigsley@woodsaitken.com
