Obituary

Ryan H. Hamilton

March 9, 1984 - August 11, 2025

Ryan Hugh Hamilton, 41, of Lincoln, went to be with his Lord on August 11, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories. Born March 9, 1984, in O’Neill, NE, to Roger Hamilton and Sue Benson Hamilton, Ryan lived with a spark that could brighten any room and a sense of humor that made strangers feel like lifelong friends.

Ryan graduated from Spencer-Naper High School and went on to earn a construction management degree from Wayne State College. He brought his energy and work ethic to Midwest Infrastructure, Inc., where he served as a project manager—always taking pride in each project and finding joy in every moment shared with coworkers.

Ryan and Gina met while they worked at a restaurant during college. They entered into marriage August 27, 2011 and built a beautiful life in Lincoln. They enjoyed traveling especially to South Dakota and riding the trails. There was never a dull moment at Hotel Hamilton where countless parties were hosted and great times had with friends and family. They most enjoyed raising their boys and attending sporting events and doing endless boy activities.

Outside of work, Ryan was happiest outdoors. As an avid hunter and fisherman, he loved weekends at Turkey Creek Lodge with family, turning wrenches on his many car projects, and getting his hands dirty in the garage (usually with a cold drink nearby). He was carefree, quick with a smile and a genuine, unforgettable laugh, and always the life of the party.

Ryan also cared deeply about his community, serving as an active member of the Thompson Creek HOA and helping maintain the neighborhood ponds and park—just one of many quiet ways he gave back.

He leaves behind his wife and partner-in-laughter, Gina, and their three amazing sons, Karter, Logan, and Mitchell. Also surviving are his mother Sue Benson Hamilton; father Roger Hamilton; brothers RJ (Nessa) Hamilton and Riley Hamilton (fiancé Sara Streedbeck); father-in-law John “Jack” Korth; mother-in-law Lori Heller; sister-in-law Emily Korth (significant other Brian West); brothers-in-law Luke (Robyn) Korth and Ross Korth; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, niece, nephews, and friends who felt like family.

Ryan is now reunited with their angel baby and his maternal grandparents Hugh and Millie Benson, paternal grandparents Bob and Dilas Hamilton; uncles Dale Tarr and Steve Benson, and his mother’s devoted partner Bob Mayo—probably already sharing a few jokes and a good story or two.

Rosary: 5:00 p.m. Sunday, August 17, 2025, at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive. Family will greet friends for visitation from 3:00–5:00 pm.

I loved how he always smiled. he had the best laugh. He was an amazing father, he took care of me, he always got dirty, he had a bad smell after camp or fishing, but I got used to it.

When meeting Ryan for the first time, he said “I know I already like you because you had my son over and sent a picture of him eating real food. Man food. A hot dog!” Followed by his enormous laugh and a bear hug. That sums up Ryan perfectly – down to earth, sweet, and trying to make you smile. To have known him is to love him. My heart aches for you Gina, Sue, boys, and all the family and friends who loved Ryan. Though out of sight, his energy and light is with you always.

I will always remember him taking Laura Neneman as his show and tell when she was 2. He was such a great kiddo and person!

I will always remember the naughty trumpet player in the 6th grade band. But also knew he had a heart of gold. It was pretty cool watching him grow up with his wife and kids.

I can not express the love, prayers, and sympathy to all of Ryan’s family, but most of all his dear wife, children, and mother. I pray God touches your life in ways only He can. May you find that peace that passes all understanding and confidence you will celebrate forever at God’s throne. Prayers continue for all. Deepest love sent your way. 🙏🏻💕🙏🏻
