Ruth “Jeanne” French

Ruth “Jeanne” French, 91 of Lincoln, died Wednesday, October 31, 2012 in Omaha. Born April 8, 1921 in Weeping Water, Nebraska to Jacob and Caroline (Flamme) Meier. Jeanne was a member of the Westminster Presbyterian Church and had served as a deacon, the PEO Sisterhood which she served several chapters as president, Chi Omega Sorority, Symphony Guild, Junior League and at one time served as a docent for the Sheldon Gallery.

She is survived by: a sister, Pat Parsons, Modesto, CA ; her three children: Jack S. French, Jr. and wife Jill of Omaha; Cindy Kohler and husband, Dick of Greenfield, IA and Charles (Chuck) French and wife, Becky of Omaha. Her grandchildren: Jason (Mina) French, Kalamazoo, MI; Carrie (Brendan) Feeney, Westminster, CO; Ben (Kristina) Kohler, Hastings, NE; Jenna (Phil) Hayden, Boise, ID; Samantha (Brian) Kalasek, Omaha, NE and Thomas French and fiancé Haley Chapman, Kansas City, MO and 5 great grandchildren: Jaxin French, Caelyn French, Kobe Kohler, Easton Kalasek and Cameron Feeney.

Preceded in death by husband, Col. Jack S. French; infant son, James Douglas; sister, Maggie Sandly and infant great grandsons, Rylan Milo French and Frederick Lee Hayden.

Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 5, 2012 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Rev. Andrew McDonald officiating, Interment in Wyuka Cemetery.

Memorials can be made to the family.

Visitation one hour prior to service time at the church.
