Ruth Cecelia (Sundeen) Kirk, 90, of Lincoln, passed away Sunday, July 31, 2016. Born April 19, 1926, in Lincoln, to Paul Arthur Clarence and Pauline Irma (Curyea) Sundeen. Graduated from Waverly High School in 1944 and Saint Paul Bible College in 1947 with a degree in Christian Education in 1947. Served with Child Evangelism Fellowship as a missionary before returning to Saint Paul Bible College where she worked as a secretary. She then moved back to Lincoln and worked at Bruning Corp., as a secretary, until she retired.
Ruth was an active lifetime member of Rosemont Alliance Church. She enjoyed oil painting, needlework, playing games, puzzles, and was an avid reader. She married Horace Kirk on October 7, 1978. The traveled extensively during the ten years Horace lived. She was a quiet, sweet influence on the lives she touched.
Family members include her brothers and sisters-in-law, Marlin J. Sundeen and Phyllis Cliften, David L. and Marilyn Sundeen; sisters-in-law, Beverly Sundeen, all of Lincoln, Wilma Sundeen, Waverly; sister and brother-in-law, Sallie A. and Delmer Semmer, Gold Canyon, AZ; nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents; husband, Horace Kirk; brothers, Dale and Norman Sundeen; sister-in-law, Gail Sundeen and nephew, J. R. Crow.
Memorial Service: 3:00 p.m. Friday (8-5-16) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Prior private interment.
