Roy Frederick Beach, age 89 of Sacramento, CA, formerly of Eagle, NE, passed away Jan.28, 2010. He was born Apr. 1, 1920 in Bynum, Montana to Edward and Carrie (Condra) Beach.
Roy, graduated from Eagle High School, in Nebraska, in 1938. He joined the Navy and served 2 years before receiving a Medical Discharge in 1940. He then attended Chico State College in Chico, California, and worked in the automotive parts field.
In 1947 during a trip back to Nebr. he met and later married Velma J. Hermann of Eagle on Sept.3,1948 and adopted her young son Robert Lynn.
Roy continued working in the automotive parts field until 1958, at which time he started the Sacramento Carpet Service. He invented the art of carpet sculpting. This was what he loved and continued, even teaching this art form, until he retired in 1988.
Roy is survived by his adopted son, Robert Lynn, a brother Ralph (Bud) Beach, half brother Earl and wife Nadine Schmidt, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father and Mother, Edward Beach and Carrie (Beach) Schmidt his wife Velma, brothers Charles, Clarence, and Raymond, Step Brother Don Schmidt and wife Doris, Sisters Pauline Boardman and Alma Bockhoven, and step sister Pearl Newton.
Graveside services will be held Tues. Mar. 16, 2:00pm at the Eagle Cemetery in Eagle Nebraska.
