September 23, 1940 - August 29, 2019

Ronnell “Ron” Berg Brittenham

Ronnell “Ron” Berg Brittenham, 78, 9/23/40 — 8/29/2019. Born to Rose Jensen and Gaylord Brittenham in Hardy, NE.

He shared 27 years of marriage with this wife, BJ. He loved taking her to work each day and picking her up. Ron loved taking care of people. Whether it was through his professional positions of service or his personal relationships. He loved opportunities to make others feel important and special.
He took great pride in their home and in keeping a meticulously groomed yard. But nothing compared to the pride he had for his children (natural and adopted) and grandchildren, and their accomplishments. He never missed an opportunity to remind them how proud he was of them.

Ron enjoyed many good times with friends, his volunteer time at Bryan West, reading, crossword puzzles, and being a staunch supporter of Husker Women’s basketball and volleyball.

Survivors include his wife B. J. (Etherington) of Lincoln, NE, son Jeffrey Brittenham of Oakley, KS, daughter Melody (John) Hess of Fulshear, TX, son Michael (Ann) Brittenham, and step children; Derek Chollet (Heather Hostetter) of Washington, D.C., Cadi Thyne of Minneapolis, MN, and Porter (Mindi) Chollet of Lincoln, NE, 14 grandchildren, one great grandchild, brothers; Edward Brittenham and Jack (Janice) Brittenham both of Lincoln, NE, sisters; Rose Young of Fairbury, NE, and Jean (Frank) Brennfoerder of Lincoln, NE.  Preceded in death by parents, sister Bonnie North and brother Gale Brittenham.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Roper and Sons South Chapel 3950 Hohensee Dr.(40th & Yankee Hill.)

Memorials can be made in lieu of flowers in Ron’s name to the Bryan West Independence Center or to the Immanuel Lutheran School – Columbus, NE.
