Roger C. Rhodes

June 20, 1931 - August 28, 2008

Roger C. Rhodes, 77, Lincoln, died Thursday (8-28-08). Born Arapahoe, NE (6-20-1931) to Charles and Sophia (Roepke) Rhodes. Ret. Entrepreneur. Graduated from Arapahoe High School and Nebraska Wesleyan University. Served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Married to Rosemary Lucke, September 5, 1954.

Active member of Fourth Presbyterian Church where he , over his 54 years of membership, was an ordained Elder, an officer of The Mariners and Presbyterian Men, and sang in the choir. He was active in Boy Scouts, The State Presbyterian Men’s organization, and a member of the Lincoln Manor Board and instrumental in the development of the University Place Art Center (now the Lux Center). He was devoted to his family and enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, and cribbage.

Family members include wife: Rosemary; daughters, son-in-law: Rhonda Rhodes, Lincoln; Renee and Michael Antonowicz, Endicott, NY; sons, daughters-in-law: Rod and Liz Rhodes, Gretna; Russ and Stephanie Rhodes, Lincoln; Randy and Julie Rhodes, Grand Island; grandchildren: Micah, Seth, Reece, Kyle, Ben, Lauren, Katie, Emma, Hannah, Eli; nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Preceded in death by parents, 1 brother, 4 sisters.

Celebration of Life Service: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (9-3-08) Fourth Presbyterian Church, 5200 Francis Street. Pastor James Goble officiating. Prior private interment.

Memorials in lieu of flowers may be given to the Church.

Visitation: Family will greet friends from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Roper & Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street.
