She graduated from Broken Bow High School, Class of 1974, and went on to earn her master’s degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1979. She was married to the love of her life, Steve Morrison, and though widowed, she carried his memory with grace and quiet strength.
For 38 years, Roberta served as a devoted speech-language pathologist for Lincoln Public Schools, where her passion for helping others and her fierce work ethic made a lasting impact on generations of students and colleagues. Her kindness and intelligence guided her career and personal life alike.
Roberta found her greatest joy in her role as a grandmother to seven beloved grandchildren. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines, reading stories, or sharing moments at the lake in Okoboji, she gave her heart fully to her family. Her grandchildren knew her as a steadfast presence—fun, wise, and endlessly loving.
In her free time, Roberta delighted in reading, gardening, completing puzzles, and rooting for her cherished Nebraska Cornhuskers. She was known for her organization, loyalty to those she loved, and an inner strength that carried her through life’s challenges.
Roberta’s legacy is one of love, perseverance, and generosity. She will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Roberta is survived by her daughter Jamie (Shane) Ligon of Lincoln; her sons Robert (Lesa) Morrison of Cortland, NE, and Jeff (Dawnta) Morrison of Lincoln; and her grandchildren James, Kaylee, and Jordan Ligon; Lyla, Elijah, Tatum, and Tenley Morrison. She is also survived by her sister Arlene (John) O’Neill; brother Morris Mills; brother-in-law Andy Eastman; sister-in-law Lindy (Carey) Rolofson; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
