Robert LeRoy Ferguson

February 16, 1929 - February 24, 2025

Robert LeRoy Ferguson, 96, of Lincoln passed away on February 24, 2025. Born February 16, 1929, in Lincoln, NE to Edward and Lila (Vincent) Ferguson.

Robert served twenty years in the U. S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

Robert Retired from the State of Nebraska Department of Corrections as a correctional officer.

After retirement, he also worked building bikes for Walmart.

Robert spent thirteen years in Alaska. Worked on the North Slope Pipeline. He was a member of the Retired Enlistment Association and Retired Sergeants Association.

Family members include his daughters Veronica (David) Lueders of Lincoln, Teresa (Kent) Bouma of Firth, Nori Dusenbury of Wasilla, AK, and Deborah (Kevin) Noonan of Lincoln; sons Robert Hertzel of Buckeye, AZ, and Kenneth (Jane) Dentis of Lincoln; grandchildren Drew (Alexis) Lueders of Omaha,  Benjamin (Diana) Lueders of Hickman, Tory Bouma of Firth, Ashley (Travis) Wulf of Guiderock, Garrett (Kelsey) Bouma of Firth, Cheryl Owen’s Waters of Anchorage, AK,  Julie Graber Harder of Wasilla, AK, Jeremy (MaKayla) Noonan of Dorchester,  Trevor Noonan of Lincoln, Louie Hertzel of Buckeye, AZ, Kelly (Brian) Pearlstein of Titusville, FL, Patty DePalma of Valparaiso, and Rick (Shelly) of Valparaiso; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 great great-grandchildren; sister Naomi Krause; sisters-in-law Deb (Rick) Mazour & Elke Hoyt; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his parents, wife Deanna, son Robert Ferguson, one brother, three sisters, and one brother-in-law.

Graveside service: 3:00 pm Thursday, March 6, 2025, Lincoln Memorial Park Cemetery, 6800 S. 14th St. Please meet at gate #2.
