Robert E. “Bob” Butts, 77, Havelock, passed away at his home on Monday (1-11-10). Born (3-30-32) in Havelock, NE to Clifford and Jenni (Hartshorn) Butts. A 1950 Northeast High School graduate. Bob was in the 82nd Airborne during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. Married his high school sweetheart, Barbara A. (Heiser) on November 25, 1954. He enjoyed golfing in the senior golf league, camping and bowling. Bowled two perfect 300 games the last one being on October 27, 1971 at Hollywood Bowl in Lincoln. A fast-ball pitcher for the Havelock Cubs and other Triple A softball teams.
Survivors include wife: Barbara; sons, daughters-in-law: Greg Butts and Mary Lou Abella, Dallas, TX, Steve (Butts) Heiser and Nancy Chapman Heiser, Lincoln; granddaughter: Madeleine Heiser, Lincoln; brother, sister-in-law: Dan and Jan Butts, Kingmen, AZ; sisters-in-law: Jean Heiser, Lincoln, Pat Snyder, Arapahoe; brother-in-law: Bob Smith, Lincoln; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Preceded in death by parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters.
Memorial Service: 11:00 a. m. Tuesday (1-19-10) Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street. Debbie Way, Life Celebrant officiating.
