Obituary

Ricky “Rick” Lee Conrad

April 2, 1958 - December 9, 2023

Ricky “Rick” Lee Conrad, Lincoln, passed away surrounded by family on Dec. 9, 2023. Rick was born April 2, 1958, to Barb and Gene Conrad.

Rick is survived by his wife, Molly Conrad; brother Mike (Renee) Conrad; daughters Meg Conrad (Jeff Fredricey) and April (Christy) Conrad; grandchildren Alder, Everly, Travie, Hailey, Anthony, Zoey; parents in-law Dianne and Larry Rathe; brothers-in-law Mike (Tracy) and Mark (Katie) Rathe; nieces Leah, Natalie, and Kaylee; and nephews Logan, Sam, and Tyler.

Rick was a gifted musician with a natural ability to quickly learn songs by ear. Music was his fuel. Rick and Molly’s basement was a playground of guitars, games, and Beatles and Marilyn Monroe nostalgia that Rick loved to share with friends and family. He was a Husker fan through and through. He would often say, “Once a Husker fan, always a Husker fan” – even if he wasn’t always happy with the outcome of a game. Rick had a long career at Fisher Moser Flooring and had a reputation as one of the area’s best carpet installers. He had a strong work ethic and was meticulous in his work, music, and collections. Rick was a member of several bands in his lifetime and lived for Friday night jam sessions with his closest friends. When he wasn’t jamming, you could find him on the golf course or spending time with his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Family gatherings were often filled with the sounds of him playing piano. Rick was so good to Molly and kept flower shops busy with regular deliveries. He touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, at Roper & Sons, 3950 Hohensee Drive, Lincoln, with a reception at the funeral home following.

Honorary pallbearers: Mike Conrad, Mike Rathe, Mark Rathe, Jeff Fredricey, Jeff Marx, and Jamey Lieske.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family for later designation.
