Richard L. Nelson, 81, of Lincoln passed away peacefully on May 10, 2016. He was born June 13, 1934, in Lincoln to Donald K. and Marie (Livinghouse) Nelson.
A loving husband for 60 years, he met Carolyn Lux at age 13 at a u20284-H meeting. They married on August 14, 1955, in Lincoln. He was a graduate of UN-L where he received his Masters Degree in Animal Science in 1957. His business career included county extension service, ag sales, public relations, and advertising in Michigan, Illinois, Omaha, and New York, NY, prior to starting his own agency back in Lincoln in the 1970’s. Richard is remembered as a caring, loyal, and dedicated husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn; children Woody (Joyce) Nelson, Cheryl (Brett) Judds, Brian (Karen) Nelson, Kerby (Cindy) Nelson; grandchildren Jessi (Justin) Walters, Noel Hartung, Jared (Sara) Nelson, Nigel (Jen) Nelson, Natalie Nelson, Jenny (Jason) Hietbrink, Levi (Kelsey) Nelson, Jeffrey (Molly) Nelson, Joshua Nelson, Sierra Nelson; 16 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral services: 10:00 a.m. Friday, (5-13-16) at Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street.

Visitation with family present will be Thursday (5-12-16) from 6:00-7:30 pm at Roper and Sons.
