Ray died Thursday, Feb. 6, at the Medical Center of the Rockies, Loveland, Colorado.
Born March 23, 1943, Ray was the son of Ray Wallace and Linda Lambert of Lincoln, Nebraska. A mere one and a half pounds at birth, Ray’s father whispered to him then, “Skip over the hurdles!” coining the nickname “Skip”.
A 1961 graduate of Lincoln High School, Skip was elected to the National Honor Society. He also lettered on the Lincoln High School Swim Team.
Skip graduated in 1966 from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, with a Pharm D degree.
His employment as a pharmacist included Bryan Medical Center as well as Poudre Valley Hospital, Ft. Collins, Colorado.
Skip was united in marriage to the former Mary Elizabeth Davies of Lincoln, Nebraska, May 8, 1971, at Saint Paul United Methodist Church in Lincoln. She survives.
To their union a daughter, Laura Elizabeth, was born Feb. 2, 1973. Laura was the joy of their life 22 years. That joy turned to sorrow with her death.
He took special interest in the study of geology and archeology. He held membership In the Loveland Archeological Society and the Ft. Collins Gem and Mineral Club.
Skip belonged and worshipped at the Timberline Church. His labor for the Lord was not limited to Sunday, but encompassed his entire life. In the words of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, “Who am I? Whoever I am, Thou knowest, O God, I am thine.”
