Obituary

Phyllis V. Lytle

November 15, 1915 - June 26, 2013

Phyllis V. Lytle, 97, of Lincoln, died Wednesday (6-26-13). Born (11-15-15) in Polk, NE to Olaf and Sigrid (Lindeberg) Alfred. Phyllis graduated from Polk H.S. and the University of Nebraska. She spent most of her adult life in Bethesda, MD.

She and Bob, her husband of 73 years, moved to Lincoln September 2011. Memberships included president of Navy Dental Wives and president of P.E.O. Chapter J in Bethesda. Phyl enjoyed singing in choral groups and church choirs. She was also an accomplished seamstress. Always an active person, she joined Bob for golfing, trips in their motor home, and as an avid sailor on the Chesapeake Bay.

Phyl was a wonderful support for her family, traveling from coast to coast, through the years, to help when special needs arose, or just for a visit. Her grandchildren will always remember the family reunion in honor of Phyl and Bob’s 90th year when she joined them body surfing in the waves of the Atlantic. She was a beautiful person with a sharp wit and a great ability to “go with the flow”.

Phyl is survived by her daughter Susan Boswell and son-ion-law Richard of Lincoln, daughter-in-law Mina Lytle of Virginia Beach, VA, daughter-in-law Ruth Lytle of Port Townsend, WA, and son-in-law Oscar Graham (Pete) Gulley of Southern Pines, NC. Grandchildren Jeff (Diane) Boswell, Kathy (Kirk) Godtfredsen, Beverly (Mark) Coose, Charles Lytle, Amy (Randy) Steele, Graham (Angel) Gulley, Paul Lytle, Megan (Chris) Hunt, Dennis Lytle, Robert J. Lytle, 12 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband Robert B. Lytle and children James Lytle, Robert B. Lytle, Jr. and Linda Gulley, parents and eight siblings.

A Memorial Service is pending at a later date.

Memorials to the American Cancer Society. No Visitation/Cremation.
