Phyllis R. Quick McGill

December 11, 1922 - November 18, 2021

Phyllis Roylene Quick McGill, 98, of Lincoln , died Thursday (11-18-21). Born (12-11-22) in rural Saunders County, near Ithaca, NE to Leroy (Roy) and Elsie (Sandstrom) Quick.

And do not forget to do good and to share with others,
for with such sacrifices God is pleased.

Phyllis graduated from Ashland (NE) High School and attended Peru State Teachers’ College to become a teacher. She taught briefly at District #16. During that time she met the love of her life, Stanley R. McGill. They married on May 23, 1943 and celebrated 70 years together before Stanley’s death in 2013.

Ret. homemaker, secretary, bank receptionist and factory worker;  President  of  Bryan LGH Medical Center volunteer board and  50-Year + Member of  First United Methodist Church of Waverly, Naphis Temple, Daughters of the Nile, Martha Washington Chapter, Order of Eastern Star and Chapter FF-IA, P.E.O . Phyllis was an avid  Bridge and Pinochle player and  an avid reader. She especially loved dancing.

Family members include sons, Lawrence D. (Marilyn) McGill, Salt Lake City, UT; John (Patricia) McGill, Waverly, NE; AFS son Andrew (Lyn) Mackenzie, Macleod ,Vic, Australia; grandchildren: Lisa (Charles) Arnold, Sean (Tiffany) McGill, Peter Sanchez, Mark (Agata) McGill, Mallori (Daniel) DeSalle, James (Brenda) McGill, Joel McGill, Christopher (Sara Martinelli) Mackenzie, Mark ( Su Dan Su) Mackenzie; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Patricia (Larry) Stark; Brother, Lee Quick; in-laws and nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by husband, Stanley, parents, granddaughters Lorice McGill and Marchelle Sanchez; and great grandson Christian McGill.

Celebration of Life: Sunday, 3:00 p.m. (12-12-21) First United Methodist Church Waverly, 14410 Folkestone with Pastor Jacob Cloud officiating. Prior private burial.
