Phyl Allen Woodburn, 60, of Wahoo, passed away April 25, 2016. Born July 9, 1955 in Gothenburg, NE to Alfred and Irene (Helzer) Woodburn. Attended the University of Nebraska Lincoln. He was a member of the FarmHouse fraternity and played trumpet in the UNL marching band. Graduated with a teaching degree in Social Studies from University of Nebraska Kearney. Taught school in Yutan Public Schools for 27 years.
Family members include his brother, Don (Vicki) Woodburn, Lincoln; sister, Kathleen (Don) Turnquist, Hutchinson, KS; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by parents and sister Gayleen Fries.
Memorial Service: 4:00 p.m. Friday (4-29-16) St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneers Blvd. with Rev. Kara Hillhouse officiating. Burial of cremated remains will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the Gothenburg Cemetery.
Memorials in lieu of flowers to the Yutan Public Schools Foundation Scholarship Fund, 1200 2nd Street, Yutan, NE 68073.
