Patricia Joann Heitman, 81, of Lincoln, died Monday, July 9, 2012. Born August 10, 1930 in Hardy, Nebraska to Ralph V. and Bernice Esther (Chamberlain) Shafer. Homemaker. Member of Christ Lutheran Church, Women’s Church Group officer, taught Sunday School for 40 years in several churches, Extension Club and the Red Hat Society.
Family members include sons: Steve (Gayle) Heitman, Manhattan, KS, and Scott (Chris Christensen) Heitman, Gretna, NE; daughters: Cindy (Kurtis) Kinney, Albion, NE, and Tammara (Duane) Rounds, Lincoln, NE; 9 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; brother: Norman (Lorraine) Shafer, Superior, NE; sister: Maralyne Gallagher, Gothenburg, NE; sisters-in-law: Dorothy Petersen, Lincoln, NE, and Velma Heitmann, Byron, NE. Preceded in death by parents, husband Arnold, one brother, four sisters-in-law and eight brothers-in-law.
Funeral Service: 10:30 a.m. Friday, July 13, 2012 at Christ Lutheran Church, 4325 Sumner Street. Rev. Dr. Luke Schnake officiating. Graveside service 3:00 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Cemetery, 8 miles west and 1 mile north of Fairbury, Nebraska with Pastor Jacob Heine officiating.

Visitation: Family will greet friends from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Thursday at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ Street and one hour prior to service time at the church.
