A Mound City High School graduate in 1966, Patricia married Franklin Smith in 1967. They had one child together, and she worked in various jobs in insurance and at Peru State College in Peru, NE, while they made their home in Auburn, NE.
On April 18, 1987, she married Dennis Lacquement and made homes in Maryville, MO, Mound City, MO, Leavenworth, KS, and Lincoln, NE. They enjoyed trap shooting competitively for many years.
Patricia was heavily involved with UNL Admissions activities and Greek Affairs during her years of employment there in Lincoln, as well as assisting with the Lincoln Trap and Skeet Club and the Cornhusker High School Trap Shoot once they were no longer shooting competitively.
In recent years, Patricia assisted in caring for (and spoiling!) her beloved granddaughter, Emersyn. She volunteered at Kooser Elementary School in Lincoln with Mrs. Potter’s Kindergarten class even once Emersyn had moved on in age. She continued volunteering up through the spring before her death.
Patricia was preceded in death by her parents, her aunt, Opal Armentrout, and both fathers-in-law and mothers-in-law.
Survivors include husband, Dennis Lacquement; son, Jason (Melissa) Smith; granddaughter, Emersyn, all of Lincoln, NE.; Dennis’ children, Nicole (Bryan) Young and Natalie (John) Scholl and children Emma, Charlie, Sophie, Katie, and Abbie.
A Celebration of Life Gathering will be Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1-3 pm at Roper and Sons South Lincoln Chapel, 3950 Hohensee Drive.
