Before I was a teammate of Ed Mulligan at LEHS, I played midget football for the Executive Club. Coach Pat Mulligan and Coach Roper were the coaches, with Coach Mulligan as my position coach in the offensive backfield. These were very formative years as we were all probably about 12-13 years old. The thing that I recall from these years is that Coach Mulligan taught us how to “compete” and play hard every play. He wanted us to have fun and wanted us to win, but more than that we were being taught to play hard and simply learn our assignments. I recall we even played one game at the State Pen. Thank you Coach Mulligan, with much appreciation and respect.
