Osvalds O. (Osis) Bumanis, 85 of Lincoln, passed away November 10, 2014. Born May 29, 1929 in Riga, Latvia to Karlis and Emilija (Skenbergs) Bumanis.
Osvalds worked as an engineer within the Bridge Division of the Nebraska Department of Roads for 53 years. In his younger years he played soccer and volleyball. Away from work, he enjoyed fishing at his beloved Blackwater Lake in Minnesota, tending to his tomato garden and enjoying the company of his dog.
Family members include his wife, Daila Bumanis; son, Edgar Bumanis, both of Lincoln; sister, Zigrida Taurins: nephew, Agris Taurins (Diane) and family, all of Lincoln; sister-in-law, Aija Oneil (John) and family, Seal Beach, CA; Nieces, Sonja Glenn (Jack) and family, Pleasanton, CA, Laura Kostermans (Jeff) and family, Orinda, CA.
Funeral Service: 10 a.m. Saturday (11/15/14) Latvian Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lincoln, 3300 C Streets.
Visitation 9 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Friday, Roper and Sons.
