Nancy Rae (Dreith) Larsen, 77, Lincoln, passed away peacefully July 28, 2016 at Lincoln Country House II while in hospice care. Born Aug. 15, 1938. Graduate of Lincoln High School. Attended Doane College and graduated from Hastings College. Married DeLoyd Larsen, June 6, 1959. Nancy began her professional career in special education in Hastings, NE and continued in Lincoln at Everett Junior High and Park Middle School before teaching 6th grade at Ruth Pyrtle Elementary. Board member, LUX Center for the Arts; choir member, Vine Congregational Church; member, Phi Sigma Tau sorority; and volunteer pianist at The Monarch – Hospice & Palliative Care.
Preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Ruby (Smith) Dreith and son-in-law, Monte Engebritson. Survived by her husband of 57 years, DeLoyd Larsen; daughter, Lori Engebritson, Greensboro, NC; son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Julie Larsen, Overland Park, KS; grandchildren – Seth Engebritson, Columbia, MO; Erin Engebritson, Richmond, VA; Cole Larsen, Overland Park, KS; Reed Larsen, Overland Park, KS; brother, David Dreith, Bellevue, NE; and many nieces and nep hews.
All who knew and loved her will remember Nancy’s positive outlook on life and love of family and friends. She touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of kindness.
Funeral service 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 13, 2016 at Vine Congregational Church, 1800 Twin Ridge Road, Lincoln, NE. Private family interment of ashes – Wyuka Cemetery.
