Mick graduated from Crawford High School in 1961 and furthered his education at Milford Technical College, earning his degree in 1964. On February 1, 1964, he was joined in marriage to Jeri Raben. They resided in Lincoln and were blessed with two children, Cindy and Wade.
Mick worked at Golds/Brandeis, Christensen’s Appliance Store, and Andy’s Appliance Repair. In 1980, Mick and Jeri started their own business, Mick’s Appliance Repair, which they successfully ran until retirement in 2014.
Mick loved fixing, inventing, as well as solving problems and you could always find him working in his shed. He also enjoyed his morning coffee get-togethers with his friends at the parts store. He always looked forward to visiting family and going home to Crawford. Most of all, Mick loved attending the various activities of his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Surviving family members include his wife, Jeri; daughter Cindy (Rod) Henkel, Wahoo; son Wade (Brenda) Eschenbrenner, Kearney; grandchildren Brandon (Nicole) Henkel, Colon, Amber (Scott) Ritzman, Omaha, Brooke (Mason) Casper, Omaha, and Matthew Eschenbrenner, Lincoln; great grandchildren Chloe, Henry, and George Henkel; sister Sharon Finley, Crawford; brother Ray (Jaci) Eschenbrenner, Johnstown, CO; sisters-in-law Anita (Jim) Lemons, Leawood, KS, Jaci (Frank) Mills, Crawford; brother-in-law Dennis Vencill, Rushville; along with nieces and nephews.
Mick was preceded in death by his parents, George and Palma Eschenbrenner, Crawford; aunt and uncle, Vic and Lorraine Haas, Hemmingford; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lorentz and Martha Raben, Crawford; and sister-in-law, Marilyn Vencill, Crawford.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at Roper and Sons Midtown Chapel, located at 4300 ‘O’ St, Lincoln.
