Michael Stephen Briones, 25, of Lincoln, NE, went to live with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 22, 2015. He was born in Denver, CO, on April 17, 1990, to David Briones and Renee Salazar. During high school, he enjoyed wrestling, basketball, football, and choir. He loved being involved in sports and showing his voice to the world. He graduated from East High School in 2008. Michael then enjoyed participating in MMA (Mixed Martial Arts) for a few years of his life. He also participated in basketball games with his closest friends.
On January 21, 2009, Michael and Kylie gave birth to his daughter Khataya, and made him a father at the young age of 18. This event gave him the strength he never had to succeed in life. His role as a father was something he adored and he aspired to be the best dad in the world. Michael met his wife, Kasey and her daughter Chesney, in the year 2013. From the 1st day he met Chesney, he took on the role of being dad. Michael and Kasey got married on September 19, 2015. On that day he accomplished a lifelong goal of having a family.
Michael worked at American Tire Distributors as a warehouse worker and worked his way up to the driver position. He was so proud of his job and loved delivering to all of his daily customers. His life ended doing the job he loved to do, and that provided him the life he always dreamed of.
Everything he accomplished was done in excellence. Michael had a laugh that is unforgettable and would put a smile on anyone’s face. He lived each day to its fullest. The people around him always knew and felt the amount of love and care that Michael had for them. Michael’s biggest goal in life was to provide and be present in his daughters, and his family’s life. He has left a lasting impression on everyone’s heart.
We will always remember that he “Loves us as big as Jesus.”
Michael was preceded in death by his cherished Grandmother Christina. Michael is survived by his wife, Kasey Briones, his daughter, Khataya, step-child, Chesney, father, David Briones, step-mom, Trina, mother, Renee Salazar, brothers, David Briones and Zander Gloria, and sisters, Ashley Briones and Bella Gloria, father and mother-in-law, Larry and Deb Bose, sisters-in-law, Katie Rohe and Carrie Bose, brother-in-law, Kevin Rohe, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
