Bill, Elaine just called to tell is of the loss of your son. We did not know and we are so sorry for your pain. We know so well the loss of a child. We are able to find comfort knowing Mike is at peace at last and your son also. Our love, Wes and Jean Ann

Our family moved to Waverly before the school year of 1975. I remember my brother and I were playing in the front lawn when a kid rode up to introduce himself. That kid was Matt. He was the first person I met in town. From that moment until a few years after graduation, we spent almost all of our time together. Matt is the smartest, most well rounded person I’ve ever known. He introduced me to music that I love, books I can’t put down, and friends I will know for a lifetime. In another time, in a happier place we will meet again. I hope your rest is peaceful and your time in Heaven is divine. You will be missed. With love, John Turek

Matt had a kind, gentle and sweet soul. Though we hadn’t stayed in contact for many years, he will always be a revered classmate and friend from my youth who had a positive impact on those around him. Safe travels Matt, you will be missed.

I liked making Matt laugh. He was such an easy going person. I will miss that innocent smile but I can still see his face so vividly in my mind. I will miss him. 😢
