Marie became a dear friend and mom-away-from-home during my two years teaching in Neligh in the mid-1980s. Loved her wry sense of humor. I ate many a Sunday dinner with Richard and Marie. So glad Mark and I were able to keep up with them via Jane over the years after we moved to MN.

Marie was the Superintendent’s Secretary at Neligh-Oakdale when I taught there from 1983-87. As a first year teacher she was so kind to me and kind of took me under her wing and I really enjoyed visiting with her every day. I moved back home to Ashland and Marie and Rev. Odgers lived across the street from me when they came there. I thought a lot of your mom. My sympathies to your family.

David, you may not remember me, but I graduated with you. Dorothy Russell at the time. I am sorry for your loss. You had a nice family and never got the respect you deserved. Who knew your family would be part of a long journey for me to also become a United Methodist Pastor? By the way, junior prom was my most fun prom. God bless your family and comfort you all.
