Margaret D. Engel, 89, passed away on December 18, 2013. Born in Omaha, NE on July 9, 1924, to Ray and Lily Deyarmond. Raised in Green River, Wy. Attended the University of Wyoming where she met her husband to be, Harold N. Engel. While at the university she sang in Glee Club, was a member of Spurs, and Delta Delta Delta sorority. Married on April 23, 1944 and eventually settled in Santa Ana, CA in 1950, where they made their home for 38 years.
A long time member of the United Methodist Church, she sang in the choir, served as secretary of the administrative board, chairperson of the Finance Committee, and also president, treasurer and program resource officer for United Methodist Women. In 1988 she returned to NE and made her home in Lincoln.
Preceded in death by daughter, Valerie Jane, and husband, Harold. Survived by daughter and son-in-law Candace and Patrick Dussault, and grandchildren Jessica and Matthew. Cremation.
