Malcolm U. James, 40, slipped away on Sunday, September 19,2010, in Lincoln. Born July 7, 1970 in Bluefield, W.V. to Edgar James (Hasan Muhammad) and Delores (Younger) James. Malcolm died due to complications from diabetes when a golden heart stopped beating and a beautiful brain no longer worked. His family will always have a hole in their hearts because he meant everything to us. We will cherish the loving memory of him forever.
Malcolm attended Arnold Elementary, Goodrich Junior High and Lincoln High Schools, all in Lincoln. He was a graduate of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln with a Bachelor’s degree in History and an Associate’s degree in Non Destructive Testing from Southeast Community College in Milford.
Mourning the unexpected loss of this ‘Gentle Giant’ are his parents, Edgar James (Hasan Muhammad) and Delores Y. James of Lincoln; brothers, E. Kevin James of Durham, N.C., and Muhammad M. James of Lincoln; one loving niece, Alana C. James; special family friend, Jennifer Lutz; aunts, Yvonne Moore, Toms River, N.J., Brenda (Jerome) Isabell, Bluefield, W.V., Ann Y. James, Boston, Gloria Jean (Sammie) Hill, West Blocton, Ala., LaVon (Smitty) J. Smith Washington, D.C., Angela D. James, Birmingham, Ala.; uncles, Paul R. (Audrey) James, Washington, D.C., Ralph D. James, Montevallo, Ala.; Milledge T. Younger, Toms River, N.J.; a host of cousins; great-aunts and uncles. Malcolm was preceded in death by both sets of grandparents, Joseph and Willie Mae James and John and Ethel Younger; cousin, Fredrick Moore; uncles, Joseph James Jr., William Wallace James; aunts, Mary Francis Poole, Antionette (Toni) Younger.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Friday, September 24, 2010, at Roper and Sons Chapel, 4300 ‘O’ Street, Lincoln.
Visitation: Thursday, September 23, 2010, from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present to greet guests. Interment at Cheney Cemetery, 84th and Yankee Hill Rd. Please join the family for a reception at Roper and Sons following the funeral service and interment.
Memorials may be given to the family for future designation.
