Lucille Mueller Carley

December 2, 1920 - April 18, 2012

Lucille Mueller Carley, 91, of Lincoln, died Wednesday, April 18, 2012. Born Independence, Iowa on December 2, 1920 to John and Blanche Antonsen Mueller. Graduated Independence H.S., R.N. degree University of Iowa (1944). Married Bill Carley November 29, 1942. Employed at Sioux Valley Hospital, Sioux Falls, SD, Wichita General Hospital, Wichita Falls, TX, People’s Hospital, Independence, Iowa, Lincoln General Hospital, Clarke Jeary Retirement Center and retired from Bryan Memorial Hospital in 1984.

Organizations and activities that Lucy was involved in: Saint Elizabeth Hospital Auxiliary, holding offices and other volunteer duties such as Tours, Dismissals, Music therapy and Lifeline and chaired the Scholarship program. Member P.E.O. Chapter AI since 1969 holding various offices. Past member Hillcrest Country Club, Cosmopals, many bridge marathons, member of St. Mark’s United Methodist Church and participated in Grace Notes Bell Choir.

Lucy’s special interests were bridge, church, Disciple Prayer Group, golf, puzzles, recipe books, gardening, oil painting and lots of travel including learning to snorkel and a walk on The Great Wall in Beijing, China. Her favorite travel destination was the Hawaiian Islands.

Family members include husband Bill, daughters Barb Carley, Lincoln, Dee Moeller and husband Keith, Pender, NE, granddaughter Tracy Moeller, Scottsdale, AZ, grandsons Ryan Moeller and wife Mandy, Lincoln, NE, Drew Mischnick and wife Tyanne, Lawrence, KS, sister Ruth Nelson, brothers Fred Mueller, John Mueller and wife Bonnie, sisters-in-law Karen Mueller and Maxine Mueller. Preceded in death by son James, brothers Merth, Wayne, Richard, Vernon and sisters Pearl, Kay, Eleanor, Elizabeth.

Memorial Service: 11:00 a.m Saturday, April 21, 2012 at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church Chapel, 8550 Pioneers Blvd. Chaplain Laurel Crusinberry, officiating.

Memorials to the St. Mark’s Foundation or Grand Lodge Scholarship Fund.

No visitation/cremation.
