Lowell William Waldo, better known as “Bill”, 81, of Lincoln, died Sunday (12-23-12). Born (5-9-31) in Exeter, NE to Lowell C. and Frances E. (Wiggins) Waldo. Graduate of Gordon High (1949) and from UNL with a BS in general agriculture. Bill met Sharon during his college years and corresponded through mail while Bill was stationed in Germany. He served as a Second Lt in the US Army. He was married to Sharon in Lincoln in 1956.
His career consisted of a 5 year period owning and operating a Texaco service station and bulk plant in Gordon, NE. From there he spent time with a finance company in Sidney, NE and the last 34 years before retirement with Farmers Home Administration. Most of this time was spent after moving to Lincoln in 1965. At this time he became a member of St. Marks United Methodist church. He enjoyed serving the church in different capacities through the rest of his life. Some of Bill’s hobbies throughout the years included photography, golf, travel, and spending time with friends and family.
Member: St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, Sunrise Kiwanis, AGR, 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge, Shrine Temple, and Scottish Rite. Bill was a volunteer for 25 years and past president at Bryan Hospital.
Survived by his wife Sharon; daughters, Connie (Lynn) Freeman, Carrollton, MO, Susan (Brent) Peterson, Oakland, NE; grandchildren, Clinton and Bryson Peterson, Ashley Sperling, Brian and Michael Freeman; 4 great grandchildren; sister, Sherry (Lance) Jones, Broken Bow, NE; 2 nieces; 1 nephew.
Memorial Service: 2:00 pm Thursday (12-27-12) at St. Mark’s United Methodist Church, 8550 Pioneers Blvd. with Pastor Wayne Alloway, Jr. officiating. Private prior graveside.

Visitation from noon – 8:00 pm Wednesday with family greeting friends from 6:00 pm – 7:30 pm at Roper and Sons, 4300 ‘O’ St.
